I would like to personally thank you for contacting Northern Michigan K-9 Inc. I have been involved in Law Enforcement as a Police Officer with both County and City departments since 1980. My K-9 career began in 1985.

I have actually handled a dog "on the streets" through the 1980's and 1990's so when I say "there's no substitute for experience", I truly believe it. Because of my experience, I feel I am better able to offer more realistic hands-on training for today's Canine Handler.

In 1996 I began training Police Dogs on a full-time basis. I have personally trained OVER 400 K9 TEAMS throughout the United States, from two-member villages to 500 member departments, as well as training K-9 Trainers from some of the Nations larger departments. I trained and provided the current official Explosive Detector canines for the United States in New Jersey. All overseas mail comes though this terminal.

I believe that my Detector Dogs are second to none. In today's world of sophisticated hidden compartments for narcotics to explosive threats in our schools; there is no room for an average dog. Our Handlers and Advanced Handlers classes are limited to a small number of teams to ensure that they receive the proper and best training available. The course at Northern Michigan K-9 Inc. is approved through the MICHIGAN COMMISSION ON LAW ENFORCEMENT STANDARDS (MCOLES).
